Working my magic in the studio again
And She’s Back!
Hi, everyone! I’m feeling rested and ready to get back to the office after my little sabbatical. Looking forward to seeing everyone again and hearing how your summer has been going. In this newsletter I’ve included a brief reflection on my time with water during my break as well as the poll result from my last newsletter, “Down the Rabbit Hole”. Enjoy and hope to see you soon.
Reflections on Water

During my break I spent as much time near, in and with water in all different forms. Not only to beat the summer heat, but there is something about being near water just brings out the best in me. It’s cooling, cleansing, peaceful and yet can be such a powerful force.
I got to thinking how everything I do in my practice moves our waters, gets fluids flowing. Massage brings fresh, nutritive blood-flow to the tissues, lymphatic drainage helps cleanse our tissues and remove waste, craniosacral supports the movement of cerebrospinal fluid that bathes and protects our brain and spinal cord. Dryness and stagnation in the body create inflammation and restriction. The work I do at Better Being Bodywork helps to cool and calm the system, circulating more of the good stuff the body needs and release what no longer serves. Calm, peaceful and yet a powerful force.
Down the Rabbit Hole
In my last newsletter, I wrote about how I’ve been going down the rabbit hole of understanding the origins of “wellness” as an industry. I asked some questions about your own experience with the wellness industry and also put up a poll on my instagram stories. Here are the results!
How involved are you in the Wellness Industry? | Have you ever experienced wellness burnout? | How much to you trust the wellness industry? | Have you ever felt shame for not doing enough self care? |
|---|---|---|---|
32% work in the industry 19% are avid participants 42% sometimes do wellness stuff 7% were none/don’t care | 88% have experienced wellness burnout 12% were no/didn’t know what wellness burnout was | Average of 40% trust level | 90% said yes 10% said no |
